When the Hard Rock turned to us for a major expansion of their property, we were also tasked with remodeling and expanding their world famous concert venue, The Joint. The Joint was completely redesigned and is almost twice the size of the previous venue. The new venue features three-tier, multi-level seating, with an 82,000 sq. ft., column-free open area and 121 ft. wide clear spans. The Joint now seats 4,055 people, with floor seating, 700 fixed balcony seats, VIP level with table seating and seven VIP luxury skyboxes. To keep the intimate atmosphere of the original venue, The Joint was designed so that the farthest seat from the stage is only 155 ft. away. Some of the floor seating can also be removed to accommodate standing room events. There is also state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment throughout, including two 9ft.-by-16ft. projection screens located to the left and right of the stage, as well as an additional 38 flat screens throughout the venue. The Joint also features bar areas, and is adorned with guitars and large oversized drum cymbals, which act as lighting fixtures. Worldwide superstars and Las Vegas locals, The Killers, performed the grand opening concert for the newly renovated venue. Additional elements of the project include an expanded casino gaming area, parking garage, 60,000 sq. ft. of convention/meeting space, restaurants, nightclubs, spa and fitness facility, and retail space. M.J. Dean is responsible for all concrete work, metal stud framing, drywall, painting, and project management.
